Large caps and growth rally: Is it for real?

On Sept 18, in the big rally after the Fed cut rates, as well as the next day, large cap and growth stocks seemed a little spent, after recent runs. But then on Sept. 20 and today, large cap and growth seem to be holding up. So, is this the inflection point toward a shift toward large cap and growth? Who knows. But watch for a rally, and if the market runs up, see which styles outperform. That will be the clue as to how to slant your asset allocation. At this point, I'm guessing the run in value and smaller caps may be abating.

Over the past six months or so, depending on which style index you look at, large cap and growth seems to be edging out front. See my story in InvestmentNews.
